RE: Buying new 5er

I must say like everyone else floor plan first. Bathroom next we wanted one where everything was together Plus good sit down room. Next was ease of being able to get to the refg, and bath room with the slides in. major for DW was being able to make the bed. up, and a rear living. These were our goals. We ended up with the Crossroads Cruiser CF32BL. This is where the weight came into play. Some of the others that were on the short list turned out to be too heavy for my liking. Look and walk away the first two trips in

RE: Gas mileage with your rig alone, and with your fiver?

I Get 12 to 13 Mpg while towing at 65mph I will get 19.5 to 21.5 empty, depending on speed. The fifth wheel on the open road gets about one more mile per gal than the tt. But if a lot of stop and go is involved than the milage goes way down

RE: Side Aisle 5ers

We have a Crossroads Cruiser side aisle three slide the model is CF32BL. One of the deals was we could get to the bathroom with out opening any slide. It also has a rather large bathroom in it with a shower. We can close it off from the Bedroom. I guess you would call it a curb Aisle.

RE: Travel Trailers vs. Fifth-Wheels

We had a TT before the fifth wheel. We went to the fifth wheel because of the added storage in the basement. I have found that the fifth wheel is easier to tow, and a lot more stable. At this time I would not go back to a TT

RE: Crossroads Sunset Trail

Mike I second the above. We are on our second Crossroads unit. Great warranty and customer service. We have a Cruiser now. Go into the Crossroads forum and check out the Sunset trail guys. They all seem to love them. I have found them to have a lot for the dollar.

RE: crossroads cruiser.

We have the CF32BL upgraded from their travel trailer entry level the Zinger. We looked at several other lines, and came back to Crossroads because of their warranty and customer service. The fit and finish is real good, have had our since last Sept and have towed it 3000 Miles. We are out in it at least once a month some times twice a month, Longest stay was six nights. We did up grade the AC the insulation the Refrigerator, The Slide out awnings Hot water heater Oak front for the Refrigerator Alum wheels the hide a bed and the Euro Lounge chairs with Ottoman. I for got to order the Insulated windows but everything seems to be working out well. As some else suggest go into the webb site a check ALso got the Equa Flex suspension, would not do with out this

RE: SS Badger from WI to MI

I did the trip in 2001 would do it again, any thing bets driving in the Chicago traffic. The stuff is a nightmare unless you go thru Chicago around 1 to 2 in the AM.

RE: mid 90's Dodge 5.9lL/v10's 2500 trucks

I have a 4X4 v10 down on the farm. This is 1997 Model bought it new. At the time could not justify a diesels I have average 10MPG over the life. AT the time of purchase, it had more torque than the Cummins.

RE: Bad News on my tow vehicle

I believe GM had a lot of problems with the heads in 2005. In some cases they have had to extended the warranty. I do think I would buy into there transmission killer.

RE: Pilgrim Int

You might want to look at the Crossroads Cruiser line, When we were getting ready to buy the Pilgrim was on our short list nice unit, but the crossroads was 1800lbs lighter Actual weight took both units to the scales. I went with the lighter weight crossroads.

RE: MPG with 5er and TT

We had had 25 foot travel trailer Loaded it weighed 5500 lbs. At 65 mph I got 12.5 mph at 55 I would get 13.0 Mph. Our new Fifth wheel Loaded weighs in the 10900 lbs area. I will get 14 mph at 65 and will get 14.5 at 55 mph. this is all once the load is moving, stop and go the fifth wheel uses more fuel. Both were pulled with a 2005 Dodge 5.9 CDT six speed.
